Crazy, Hazy, Not Lazy Days of....School

So I realize that it has been awhile since I've shared my thoughts on life or shared anything about my life with all of you, but I've learned very quickly how busy and crazy being a first year teacher is.  My newest motto I'm living by is to make it through each day.  I'm not really used to that motto.  I, as you may have learned, am a planner.  I like organization, I like plans, I like to know things in advance.
Well, that doesn't really work for a first year teacher, at least not for this first year teacher.

So what have I been up to?  Planning for classes, trying to learn 100+ names of students and coworkers, trying to figure out an organizational system for my classroom (this is driving me crazy), getting to know my students, and trying to ward off germs from the 100+ people I see everyday.  It has been a lot of fun already, I still look forward to going to school everyday, making connections with my students, and learning something from them while I try to teach them some things too.  But, there have been challenges as well, and that's why I have my new motto, make it through each day.  I need that motto for me so I can get by as a teacher for awhile at least until things become more of a routine for me, but I also need that motto for my students.  No matter what, I need to make it through each day because for many of those students school is there only structure, there only safe place, the only time they are noticed or get advice.  So for all the teachers out there, make it through each day for your students, because each day is a new day with lots to offer and lots to learn from.

On a side note, if you want to see pictures of my classroom they will be uploaded later.  It's still a work in progress. :)

Hope you enjoy the song! :)  My inspiration for the day...
