Like I mentioned before I am currently student teaching in mathematics right now, so my mind these days seem to be filled with lesson plan ideas, organizational tools, portfolios, how to motivate my students, and the list goes on and on. Anywho...I am also taking a technology class to enhance my student teaching experience where I am learning and relearning about a lot of great technologies out there that can help us teachers out. I just thought I would share with you some of my favorites. If some of these won't work well for your particular content area they are great resources to use in your everyday lives as well!
Pinterest: Who doesn't love pinterest?! Besides helping us become better cooks, crafters, and fashionistas, Pinterest is a great place to find ways to organize your classroom, develop classroom management systems, and get inspiration for lessons!
Jing: This one is new to me and I LOVE it! It creates screen shots and video capture that you can then edit. I think I will use it a lot to create worksheets and tests when I need pictures of oddly shaped figures. Check it out!
Prezi: A glorified powerpoint but it can be useful when used appropriately.
Google! (Drive, Calendars, Sites, Blogger!, etc. etc.): Don't forget about the search engine we all know and love, it has so much to offer to us.
TED-Ed and TED: So. Much. Information. It's a great resource and there is a TED App, so you can look up videos on the go!
Here is one of my favorite videos that I saw on TED.
YouTube and TeacherTube: No explanation needed =D
GlogsterEDU: This is so cool and I think students will love it! I have not used it in a classroom setting yet, but it is basically an interactive poster. Let me know what you think!
Woordle and Tagxedo: Such a fun project for students. They can be used really well during that first week of school when you are trying to get to know all of your students.
Well those are a few of my favorite technologies that I use and plan to use in my classroom. There are so many more resources out there that are available to us. What technologies do you implement in your classroom (or life)?
Just learned of a new technology and I AM OBSESSED with it! It is called Edcanvas. Check it out! www.edcanvas.com
